Maine CE Requirement: Electricians in Maine — whether licensed as master, journeyman, limited, journeyman-in-training, or working as a helper — must take a board-approved 15-hour update course on the National Electrical Code edition currently in effect. The Maine NEC update schedule assumes the NEC’s typical 3-year revision cycle, but actual dates depend on when each new edition is officially released.

Renewal: Licenses are good for 2 years from issuance and can be renewed directly online via the Board’s website.

45-Hour Course Option: If you need the 45-hour version of the NEC course, Advanced Technical Schooling offers one based on Mike Holt’s materials.

Direct any state-specific CE questions to your board.
