Important Note: Nebraska-approved online courses require the use of facial recognition technology. By enrolling in an online course for Nebraska licensure, you’re agreeing to photo validation monitoring throughout the course, and you’ll need a camera-equipped computer or mobile device to participate.
Continuing Education Requirement: Licensees must complete 12 hours of continuing education total. At least 6 of those hours must be spent studying the NEC, as outlined in Section 81-2104 of the State Electrical Act. The remaining hours can be fulfilled through study of topics like electrical circuit theory, blueprint reading, transformer and motor theory, electrical circuits and devices, control systems, programmable controllers, microcomputers, or other board-approved electrical subject matter.
As mandated by Nebraska, your completed CE hours are reported to the state automatically on our end, with submissions processed each Thursday.
License Renewal: Nebraska licenses must be renewed by December 31 of each even-numbered year.
Questions about your state’s continuing education requirements should be directed to your state board.
